DÉJÀ VU

I feel that I've written this poem before
In another place and time,

If it's true, then I should have no trouble at all
With the syllabling and rhyme,

This is just one of many where I've frolicked
Thru my vocabulary of meanings and sounds --

If I can, I'll pick fun at myself and the world --
My sense of humor abounds,

Our time is too short for regrets or remorse
To stifle enjoyment of life,

We mustn't take ourselves too seriously
Where egotism runs rife,

Who knows? I may pass this way again --
If I'm a writer that time forgot,

I'll leave a trail of poetic, blue blossoms --
Readers, forget-me-not.
