FOOT AND MOUTH

My poems are often written in an eight-based rhythm, best
Described as having lines that end with full or half-beat rests,

Analyzed this way, we're talking of the very root
Of writing in my personal favorite format, called a foot,

Writing about writing must be similar to speaking
Of speaking, yes it's always something in your mind you're seeking,

Memorizing one's own poem can often be such fun,
Reciting it is something much more easily said than done.
