LITTLE MISS TREMBLECHIN

My mate and I were separated over a minor matter,
I stayed alone for days, getting away from the city clatter,

A tiny girl with tear-filled eyes briefly appeared before me,
She told me she knew the story of us and how it used to be,

Convinced that I'd been wrong I hurriedly called to put things right,
My spouse said "Dear," in a dulcet tone, "A little one came here tonight."
