PICKIN' AND GRINNIN'

There'll never be another like Lester Flatt and Earl,
Scruggs was on the banjo, and where's my favorite girl?

The Stoneman family's Ronnie, not seen too much this year,
And Owens getting too darn old to make a hit I fear,

The Jackson Five have aged a bit, the white-gloved one still sings,
If he's not making progeny he's buying wedding rings,

I'm fortunate to have the platters no one hears today,
I doubt if they'll be coming back in this or any day,

I'm thankful for my memories of the not-so-distant past,
I'll always play these albums till I fade away at last.
