THE EYES HAVE IT

The eyes are often the most expressive part of the human face,
Many times they're somber -- then again they may be steely,

They narrow a bit during concentration -- accompanied by furrowed brows,
May be opened wide when startled, or dilated by love -- yes, really,

These windows of the soul come in many colors, except for maybe chartreuse,
I saw a nearly black pair once, with a frightening golden cast,

Now, with colored contact lenses, one can have unlimited choice
Of a rainbow of shades to suit the occasion -- I wonder, "Will this panoply last?"
