'Way back when, my dear Aunt Eva
Bought three lots -- the entire block, she

Found them on the north side of Morton Street --
Moscow, Idaho -- Latah County,

The east lot she deeded to Claudine and Jack --
He built his house there -- the middle lot vacant,

Eva's house was erected on the other end --
Corner lot -- no reason why she wouldn't,

Her brother, my father, did his best when they built it --
An excellent carpenter and painter, he

Knew at the time that both lots were Eva's
So they weren't too careful where the footings would be,

When Eva was gone, the house was sold --
One granddaughter and husband built a new one so fine

On the middle lot -- they still owned the east one,
It had to be surveyed -- "Eva's over the line."
